Uruguayan player fights for life after car crash
MONTEVIDEO, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Young defender Diego Rodriguez of Uruguayan side Nacional was fighting for his life on Friday after suffering head injuries in a car crash.
“We are in a situation of extreme gravity … for the moment the football jerseys
prognosis is not good,” said a report from La Asociacion Espanola hospital in Montevideo that was posted on the club’s website (www.nacional.com.uy).
Rodriguez, 22, suffered a fractured skull, brain Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
damage, punctured liver, broken ribs and other injuries, the hospital said.
His team mates were granted their wish to have Minnesota Vikings jersey
Sunday’s league match against Bella Vista postponed so they could support his family.
