LONDON (SE) - Yaya Toure has warmed up for Manchester City’s Premier League clash at Wigan on Sunday by claiming he has already fallen in love with English football.
Toure raised a few eyebrows when he quit Spanish nfl jerseys
champions Barcelona to join brother Kolo at the City of Manchester Stadium over the summer.
The 24 million pounds Ivory Coast star believes he is more suited to playing in the Premier League than La Liga.
Toure said: “When I think about the differences between football in Spain and England, the biggest is that in Spain the matches are played slowly with a lot of quality.
“In England everyone has to fight and run for the opportunity to play football. I love that. I know I am suited to the Premier League.”
Wigan have already been thrashed 6-0 by Chelsea and 4-0 by newly promoted Blackpool this season but pulled off a shock 1-0 win at Tottenham on their last away outing.
Toure insists his multi-millionaire team-mates must have full respect for The Latics and the Premier League’s other smaller clubs.
“I have a lot of respect for these clubs,” he continued. “But our matches against them are going to be very important to know whether we are a strong side as well.
“We are just starting on our path, with a lot of Bills jersey
new players but if we work hard I am totally sure we can join these famous clubs.”
City manager Robert Mancini could hand Brazilian striker Jo a rare league start after he scored in Thursday’s 2-0 Europa League win over Austrian side Salzburg.
Mancini said: “To me my players are the best in the world, but I know for all strikers it is important to score goals.
“Jo has scored one important goal for us now I hope he continues in the same way in the league.”
Mancini will recall the likes of James Milner, Adam Johnson and Micah Richards after making wholesale changes for the trip to Austria.
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez expects City to challenge for the title this season.
Martinez said: “You are always looking at what you are doing rather than the opposition, but you look at Manchester City, and you feel it’s only a matter of time before they are competing to win the Premier League.
“You just hope that we are playing them at a time when we can disrupt them and not allow them to be themselves.
“They have assembled probably the best squad of 20 footballers anywhere in the world, and that’s obviously a fantastic position to be in.
“It’s only a matter of time before they click, and they are going to be challenging for the title very soon \2013 there’s no two ways about that.
“We just need to make it difficult as we can for 49ers jersey
them, and we are also desperate to get the rewards we didn’t get against Sunderland.
“You can buy as many players as you like, but you’ll never buy a complete team. The hardest part of the challenge facing the management at City is to get a team out of a lot of skilled individuals.”
