Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyonnais, has affirmed his belief that general manager Claude Puel can arrest the club's recent run of poor results to claim the Ligue 1 title this season, then carry les Gones on to Champions League glory next term.

their opening six encounters, but Aulas has resisted calls to sack Puel. “I can change things if I think it is not working,” the president told Le Progres, rejecting claims that Lyon cannot afford to sack the former Monaco and Lille coach. “This is not the case after six league games. All changes observed in the major European teams in early season lead to disaster.”
Asked if there is a chance of Puel resigning, Aulas said: “The option has never been mentioned. The goal is the [Ligue 1] title this year and the Champions League next year. I believe it can happen. If he thinks that the task is impossible, he will tell me himself, I will not need to raise my voice.”
Presently sitting in 17th place in the French league, Lyon are eight points behind pacesetters and local rivals Saint-Etienne, whom they host in France’s big weekend clash this Saturday night.
Inter coach Rafael Benitez has brushed off suggestions he is at odds with striker Diego Milito.
Milito has come under a regiment of criticism as life at San Siro is looking bleak following a stellar campaign last term.

Benitez addressed his concerns on what Hidalgo said during his pre-Bari press conference and asserted authority between pitch and bench, quick to quash talk of a Milito rebellion.
"I have spoken to Milito. He is well and is working good. He worked well today also," Benitez told the press.
"Diego knows it's just a matter of time. His agent's comments? Milito told me he was surprised by the comments because he has not spoken to his agent for a month.
"I have learned one thing though. We are getting close to games against Roma and Juventus, and all these things are emerging…
"Will they have a negative impact? I like working on the pitch, staying focused. The most important thing is that my players work well. What people say on the outside is not important."
Aside from the Milito dilemmas, or lack of, central to the coach's themes was the Vikings jersey

"Coming from the Premier League I can say that presidents there do not speak as much as they do here," said Benitez.
